State Gymnastics Championships (May 24 - May 26)
Wildwoods Convention Center. United States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs will hold a gymnastics competition. Sat. and Sun: 8:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Unlocking of the Ocean Media Day Event (May 24 )
Come join us to officially start the summer season on the Wildwoods beach, next to the Wildwoods Convention Center. A large, ornate key will be used to 'unlock' the ocean, along with guest speakers and kites in the air. It's time to get your feet sandy!
Wildwoods International Kite Festival(May 24 - May 27)
On the Beach at Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Event begins on Friday at noon with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event on the Beach outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Festivities following include opening of the Kite Sales Tent, a Friday night social via the local kite club and the 9 p.m. illuminated kite fly. Saturday and Sunday include the East Coast Stunt Kite Championships on the beach as well as kite exhibits and workshops. Monday will feature the World Indoor Kite Competition. FREE to spectators.
Boardwalk Craft Shows (May 25 . May 26)
The Boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue. All handmade products. 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
River Adventure Cardboard Boat Race (May 25)
Morey's Piers, Schellenger Avenue, Wildwood. Design a boat, build a boat and race a boat at the second annual cardboard boat race at Raging Waters Waterpark. FREE. Race starts at waterpark closing.
Memorial Day Ceremony (May 27)
Ceremony at North Wildwood Veterans Monument, Spruce Avenue, North Wildwood. 10 a.m.
Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony (May 27)
The “Official” Wildwood Memorial Day ceremonies, Wildwood American Legion Post #184, 4200 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood. 11 a.m. featuring speakers, recognition of deceased comrades, firing squad, "Taps" and wreath laying ceremonies at the post, memorial Walk, the Vietnam Wall and the Police Explorers will lay a wreath in the ocean along with Wildwood's Beach Patrol, behind Wildwoods Convention Center.
